My doctor said that barnet is really good but i have read up on reviews and majority of them wasn't very good, though i have to say they were reviews from 2007/2008 so please can you give me reviews about your time at the hospital, both labour and aftercare, so that it is up to date experiences. I can't really fault this hospital for antenatal, labour and postnatal care at all! Luckily I didn't need the nightstaff again. Postnatal was ok. Squeaky bed but everything else was great. Yes the hospital is so full and yes, the midwives are short staffed but if you watch them you can see that they are not un-caring, they just have many people they have to look after and all the admin they have to do on top of all that! I went for ECV because Barnet hospital have over 70% success rate. The nurse who saw me looked after me very well and rang the appropriate members of the hospital and gave me paracetamol for the pain. As I had GDM my baby's blood sugar levels had to be checked a couple if tines around feeding time and I was told not to feed my crying baby yet as they were too busy to check! Think more mothers should write to the trust and air their views on what happened to them. The care after wasn't as good (not enough midwives, too many new mums) but I put that down to the fact that it was ridiculously busy. No proper communication between staff with patients.
