You answer the notification on your app, and by the time you finally connect to the camera, the person is gone. I hope Ring gets this corrected soon. I tested this last night and the spotlight was activated and the video recorded. I'm having the same issue with a newly purchased wired spotlight cam. Same problem as everyone else. Faulty Camera. I’m not sure if they reverted the update or if that truly is the new firmware. Can someone else test this on their camera and see if it works for them? As a Ring Doorbell owner, you might have run into the connection where it takes too long to answer a connection to the doorbell. The light will go off, but when it's dark, the camera NEVER initiates unless I do a live view. I even made the doorbell sense that I was at the door and nothing recorded. Well, not quite perfect. I checked the firmware version after the chat and it was 1.9.3, today I checked and it’s on firmware 1.9.23. If I delete all motion zones then there is no motion detection at all - day or night. The lights work perfect, when opening the door or entering the garden the lights turn on immediately but my problem is in the motion detection and recording of the event/movement. And wouldn't you know, it didn't record anything!! My Ring Pro is set at the highest sensitivity. Coming in today is a Ring doorbell chime and a Ring smoke detector. Dropping a couple hundred bucks on a security camera that requires an intruder to basically get under it and wave is not sitting well with me. I live in Washington and in the winter it's dark from about 4pm until 8am, so that's a long time to not have security coverage. Having similar issues! Nothing between those hours - and I am up and hear cars passing by (which it catches all of those - even when pitch dark at 10pm, just not after midnight for sure. I hope they fix this quickly. I'm having the same problem with my Ring Floodlight Cams. I just received my camera from Amazon today. And then, you can click the notification to check who’s at your door or the things the camera detected.Unfortunately, some people have faced an issue related to ring doorbell not ringing on iPhone. However, I had to get right under the camera motion sensor to get the motion alert. It will also work with Alexa to let you know on select Echo devices if someone is at the door. Low power can certainly be a cause of this. If the camera is not responsive at all and no image can be seen, while everything else functions properly on the Ring Video Doorbell, the camera is most likely at fault. It works for me until we can finally get an updated firmware. I wonder how many peoples house was broken into without motion detection working. And if it’s not expected visitors, it’s a delivery service. Ring say its a firmware issue with no ETA on when it will be fixed. I'll be posting a negative review on Amazon. The motion zones cover the whole area. We have one too and thought they are just fabulous!! Perfect. I have the Spotlight Cam Wired and had the same issue where the spotlight would activate at night but the video would not record. But, it sounds to me like this is a RING problem. Installed it this afternoon. Wow. The recommendation was to move the Ring to the other side of the porch or move the porch light?? This is my second camera as I received a replacement because ring said the first camera was bad. Daytime works perfectly. They have no idea when it will be fixed. Next, go to 'Light Settings' and under 'Motion Zones for Lights', Turn OFF all the motion areas (this grays out the 3 zones). Motion alerts were working perfectly in the zone I set and triggered all day long when I was testing. Last night I tested ‘Motion Zones for Lights’ and found out that if you turn OFF all the zones, it records the video AND the spotlight still activates. Yes, same problem here. Besides that it generates false motion events again during evenings/night time. Just no notification and no video recording. If the above looks good, try power cycling the device by hitting the breaker, or removing the wires and reconnecting them. This is a huge terrible flaw. Edit: bigger objects do better. My ring doorbell 720p works perfectly at night in color. To check the voltage of your Ring Pro: Open the Ring app. It would record fine during the day, but between 6PM and 6AM, I had no recordings. Floodlight Cam. This has apparently been going on over a month now. No notifications for me on an evening when dark. I installed the camera last Friday so it is up and running for a couple of days now. Just purchased a floodlight and spotlight cam. We installed a ring flood light camera for my mother in law. I tested that by standing outside about 10 ft from Ring and Live View gave me a pretend image of the street where I am entirely missing from the view. Contacting the customer support has resulted in a combination of no responses, round about tangential messages as well as acknowledging that there is a known firmware issue that would be fixed in a couple of days, and that was more than 2 months ago. Got a Ring Floodlight last week and can't get it to detect motion at night unless I and standing right underneath.
