Following these events, Dorian is proclaimed King of Adarlan, and Aelin decided that she would work things out with Dorian, and in the end she tells him, "I will always be your friend.". Aedion first finds out that Gavriel sired him during Queen of Shadows. At the beginning of the series, she dealing with the aftermath of her mother's affairs, which have led to her parents' divorce and a choice between which parent with whom she will live; she admitted to choosing her father over her mother because she was so disappointed in the latter that she could barely look at her.

I don’t understand the ending, nor do I like the way the author chose to end it. Rowan made peace with Trevor Askill, one of her biggest bullies, after learning that his parents got divorced because his dad had an affair with Rowan's mother, which led to the shocking revelation that the two had eloped and Rowan and Trevor were now step-siblings.

I liked how sexuality was introduced here. Aedion leaves through the underground waterway, and contemplates the King's power and Baba Yellowlegs' visit to the castle. However, after going through a lot together, such as fighting to get rid of skinwalkers, and hunting for dead bodies which were washed up on shores, a slow understanding starts to develop between them both. This predictable, clichéd sequel will not thrill any but the most loyal fans of the first installment.

The chemistry between Brandon and Rowan remains throughout season 2.This friendship helps her understand the other side of Brandon. The whole story felt tired and contrived. –Aelin Ashryver Galathynius to Dorian Havilliard, Queen of Shadows. It took me a good long while to get into ‘Rebels of Eden.’ Again out protagonist Yarrow/Rowan is in completely unfamiliar territory and a new place with new characters. Much to Dorian's displeasure, the King orders the prince to keep Aedion company for the afternoon.

During their investigation, Rowan was conflicted about her feelings for both Jake and Brandon and tried to avoid both of them due to their past issues. In Empire of Storms, Ansel has become the Queen of the Western Wastes and supports Aelin in her campaign to conquer the throne of Terrasen, offering troops and aid.

The writing style possesses a charm all of its own, an innocence, but overall the narrative felt choppy because of the departure from the first novel, and then lots of action after re-establishing itself.

I am definitely becoming a fan of this series and hope the writing and storyline only get better and better. My 12 year old loves this (and the first one in the series).
