Parts of the environment that have been transformed into newspaper can be cleansed and restored to their natural states by passing this light over them. While the Vita’s rear touchpad provided some of the original Tearaway’s best moments, that role arguably shifts to the touchpad in the center of the DualShock 4 this time around.

If you haven’t been able to play this game on the Vita, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot on the PS4. Heavy use of primary colors combine with the natural imperfections of paper to create something that hasn’t been done in video games, at least not as far as I can remember.

Tearaway is the best platformer EVER and I mean it.

It basically follows the same story, but the gameplay had to be completely reworked for the PS4, given how reliant it was on the Vita. The original Tearaway for the Vita is a masterpiece, no doubt about it, and Tearaway Unfolded deserves to be etched in the history books as one of the greatest of this generation. Using the touchpad as a writing tool definitely takes some getting used to, much in the same way that using a drawing tablet comes with a learning curve.

Now you use the touchpad for some things, shine the lightbar on the screen, et cetera. Some of the tasks are pretty repetitive, but does not ruin the total experience. The touchpad is the primary home for Tearaway Unfolded’s creation tools. The reason why is pretty obvious though.

If it is different in going to buy it. Personally, I don’t yet own a PS4 (or a Vita), so I’m missing this game yet again. I didn’t want to get rid of the ps3, just because I bought a ps4.

I too would love if that Special Edition made its way across the pond. The regular price is $19.99.

But for not being a mouse-and-keyboard kind of game, Tearaway Unfolded makes the best possible use of the controller’s buttons and sticks.

I don’t recall how much trouble I had with that, but I know I got it, because Tearway is only the second game I platinumed. Iota and Atoi can be crushed and hurled into bottomless pits, but nothing is lost when that happens; you just pop right back up where you screwed up and carry on. Not once in that article is the word “vita” mentioned. You might not associate the PlayStation brand with family-friendly games, but Sony’s consoles have always had a rich vein of family-friendly games, going all the way back to Ape Escape and Crash Bandicoot on the original PSX, and moving through to Ratchet and Clank and LittleBigPlanet.

To make matters worse, knowing how great Shuhei Yoshida and friends are, there’s 0 chance of either game getting a sequel on Vita. Is it a remaster of the Vita game, or a sequel? ... Tearaway: Unfolded - Your paper-crafted interactive experience on PS4 - Duration: 1:54.

Is this a different game from the vita version? It’s yet another example of a team willing to go as far as it takes to stick to its mission.

Tearaway Unfolded takes this aesthetic and runs with it, in terms of both gameplay and storytelling. Seeing as we don’t have the ability to switch avatars on the PS4 yet, I don’t think they’d give out an avatar for preordering a PS4 game.
